Data Scientist

We figure out the right questions to ask about our product, how to efficiently answer them, and make recommendations about what should happen next. We explore how specific product features are performing and help guide products teams in promising directions. We also have significant autonomy to design and conduct research projects about how the Twitch community and product work and help the company think about the big picture.


  • Work with product leaders to design efficient experiments that help us decide what to build and whether what we built is working.
  • Design statistical models that help us see into the future and predict the impact of product decisions.
  • Communicate your results to diverse audiences at Twitch with effective writing, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Be a champion for high quality data-driven decision-making on your team and throughout the company.
  • Manage your own process: identify and execute on high impact projects, triage external requests, and make sure you bring projects to conclusion in time for the results to be useful.


  • Experience working with event-based product usage data in some capacity. Professional work as a Data Scientist at a web/mobile product company is preferred, but relevant independent projects and academic work is useful.
  • Strong technical data skills including experience with a SQL dialect and experience building tools and automation to clean, transform, merge, and visualize data in a procedural language
  • You can teach us something new! We love to hire people who are way more knowledgeable than us in some area and can be good teachers and mentors.

UX Researcher

Good product decisions begin with a deep understanding of user needs. Twitch’s user experience research team provides key insights that guide the product development process from ideation to launch, and conducts strategic generative research that shapes product roadmaps and sparks ideas for new features.

We figure out the best method and approach to answer product questions, deliver actionable results and recommendations to our internal partners, and work closely with viewers and broadcasters to understand their experiences. We offer a qualitative perspective to answer the “whys” and “hows” surrounding user behavior across Twitch. And we help lead a user-centered design process through iterative, evaluative research.


  • Design and conduct qualitative and ethnographic studies that inform product design and strategy; translate data into results that have a clear, direct impact on product development
  • Advise product leaders on research opportunities and best practices at all stages of an agile product development process
  • Effectively communicate research findings to diverse audiences through writing and presentations; represent user research in key product discussions
  • Manage your own process: identify and execute on high-impact projects, triage external requests, and bring projects to conclusion in time for the results to be useful


  • Experience with a variety of industry-focused qualitative research methods, such as semi-structured interviews, contextual inquiries, usability studies, diary studies, unmoderated remote studies, paper prototyping and surveys. Previous experience applying these methods directly to the product development process is highly preferred
  • Understanding of qualitative analysis and reporting methods suitable for the fast pace of industry; ability to quickly shift the methodology and scope of research projects to meet short deadlines while collecting the best possible data and delivering actionable results
  • Previous experience working with human research subjects; experience with a mix of lab-based studies, fieldwork and online research desirable; ability to effectively create screening criteria, recruit research participants, build rapport, and moderate studies
  • Background in HCI, sociology, applied anthropology, social psychology, design research or related field; advanced degree preferred

Marketing Analyst

Data is central to Twitch’s decision-making process, and analysts are a critical component to making sure that process works well. We’re looking for an experienced marketing analyst who will define Twitch’s approach to marketing analytics from the ground up. In this role you’ll shape the way marketing performance is measured, define what questions should be asked, and scale marketing analytics to support our growing business. You will own long-term strategic projects on topics such as brand awareness and Twitch’s acquisition funnel. You’ll also take on tactical work to measure the effectiveness of events and product releases, and you’ll help develop self-service reporting tools to support the entire marketing team. We’re seeking an individual who has the vision and follow-through to make marketing analytics best in class at Twitch.


  • Work with Twitch’s marketing team to identify new opportunities to serve business needs through analysis and reporting.
  • Develop KPIs to measure the impact of marketing strategies, and partner with marketers as they plan and execute campaigns.
  • Create automated, self-service reports and dashboards.
  • Identify opportunities for developing new data sources, and provide technical leadership around making those data sources high quality and broadly available.
  • Maintain a culture of high quality output and exceptional customer service for internal stakeholders.
  • Design and manage a process to ensure that work gets done well and on time.


  • Expert SQL skills. Your ability to tap into our data pipeline will be key to your success.
  • Thorough understanding of the digital marketing ecosystem and marketing analytics best practices. Agency experience would be helpful.
  • Proven track record of using data to generate insight and drive business results in areas such as attribution, brand awareness, event marketing, and product marketing.
  • Fluency in data analysis and communication about data, including time series analysis, campaign analysis, data visualization, and defining KPI strategies for marketing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
